Betsy Dell Selected as Faculty Associate for Female Faculty!
Professor Betsy Dell has been selected as the Faculty Associate for Female Faculty. She is an associate professor in the manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology (MMET) department in CAST and has been at RIT since 2006. She is a co-PI on the AdvanceRIT grant, and a member of the program’s leadership team, as well as director and PI for the NSF-sponsored COMETS scholarship program for engineering technology students.
From 2010-2013, Professor Dell served as the Paul A. Miller Endowed Professor and director of the Women in Technology (WIT) program. Under her leadership, the WIT program received the national “Women in Engineering Program of the Year” award from the Women in Engineering Pro-Advocates Network. Professor Dell is also a recipient of the Edwina award, in recognition of her efforts to promote gender diversity at RIT.
As the Faculty Associate for Female Faculty, Professor Dell will serve as a leader for female faculty, offering guidance and support at the university level to faculty seeking tenure or promotion. She will provide advice and recommendations regarding issues affecting female faculty and will collaborate with the AdvanceRIT team and the COACHE Task Force to identify and implement changes in support of the success of female faculty at RIT.
